F.J. Brennan Celebrates MUSIC MONDAY- MAY 6 2019

Hello everyone!

On Monday, May 6th, thousands of students, musicians, parents and community members across Canada will sing and play at the same time creating the world's largest event dedicated to raising awareness for music education. This event will be streamed live on the Music Monday website (provided below.)

In Canada, this event is sponsored by the Canadian Coalition for Music Education and will include over 1000 performances nationwide and dedicated to sharing the message that music education is critical part of a vital part of student's education

To help spread this message, THE F.J. BRENNAN HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR JAZZ ENSEMBLE will be performing across from the weight room from 11am until 11:30am. This is not a formal performance--- but instead a casual jam session; and a chance for passerbys to enjoy some tunes and remember the important role music plays in education. Oh yes, and anyone who would like to sit in and jam is welcome! Three chords on a guitar will get you a seat!

Show your support and stop by and listen for a couple minutes on your way to the cafeteria, or classrooms --Hoots, hollers and cheers are welcome.

Congratulations to our dedicated musicians on completing their 6 hour marathon of music  fundraiser on Friday, April 26, 2019.  The Brennan music crew sang, and played from 3 until 9 pm with only a 20 min. dinner break.  A fun and productive night!

Brennan's Got Soooo Much Talent!

On November 22nd and 23rd, 35 students gathered together to produce yet another successful installment of the Brennan's Got Talent Show.  Two weeks of auditions and rehearsals paid off big time as audiences from CCMS and Brennan raved about the great talent on stage and the well-put together show!  Nice job everyone!   If you happened to miss the magic, here a few pics from the show.  Countdown for the Christmas Concert has begun...Thursday December 20, 2018!

Brennan High School:  The  Brennan Band and Choir program will start rehearsals this week.  Kicking things off will be the Brennan Jazz Choir,   with a short rehearsal tomorrow after school in the music room.  Looking forward to singing up a storm!  Rm 111, 2:30pm! 

If you didn't get a chance to sign up for the Concert Band, Jazz Band or choir, no problem!  We would love to have you!  Beginner, advanced or just curious?  Cmon down to room 111 after school today and we'll get you set up and ready to jam.

A big welcome and thank you to all the students that came out to our quick sign up and info meeting for band and choir last night!  It was great to meet you and Ms Meneghini is looking forward to working with all of you!   All rehearsals begin next week and will be posted and announced.    If you did not get a chance to sign up or have questions, don't worry there is still lots of time and we'd love to have you.  And we'd definitely love to see more grade nine faces out there!     Cmon grade 9's, let do some jamming!  If you're interested, make  sure you see Ms Meneghini today or Monday    Again, thanks all, have a good weekend.
