Brennan's Got Soooo Much Talent!

On November 22nd and 23rd, 35 students gathered together to produce yet another successful installment of the Brennan's Got Talent Show.  Two weeks of auditions and rehearsals paid off big time as audiences from CCMS and Brennan raved about the great talent on stage and the well-put together show!  Nice job everyone!   If you happened to miss the magic, here a few pics from the show.  Countdown for the Christmas Concert has begun...Thursday December 20, 2018!

Goooood morning Cardinals!   This is just a shout out to all interested musicians at F.J. Brennan High School:  The  Brennan Band and Choir program will start rehearsals this week.  Kicking things off will be the Brennan Jazz Choir,   with a short rehearsal tomorrow after school in the music room.  Looking forward to singing up a storm!  Rm 111, 2:30pm! 

If you didn't get a chance to sign up for the Concert Band, Jazz Band or choir, no problem!  We would love to have you!  Beginner, advanced or just curious?  Cmon down to room 111 after school today and we'll get you set up and ready to jam.

MUSIC ANNOUNCEMENT FOR  WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 5, 2018

Are you tired of singing into that hairbrush?  Embarrassed by the weird stares you get when you get when you play the drums on the dashboard of your car?  Is the sound of your shower, drowning out your imaginary rock concerts?    Well then its definitely time to come check out the Brennan after- school music program.   From concerts to competitions, we'll take care of those sound problems , hand you a REAL instrument and put you where you belong--ON STAGE AND IN THE SPOTLIGHT!

The Brennan Bands and Choir will have their first information and sign up meeting tomorrow ( Thursday  September 6, 2018 )  at 2:30pm in room 111-- also known as the MUSIC ROOM.  Everyone is welcome--from beginner to advanced, no auditions needed.   This year a special invite goes out to grade 9's as well as any staff who wish to join us for our  weekly jam sessions after school.  Tomorrow nights meeting will be short so be sure to arrive on time.  The Brennan Music Program:  Making Life Sound Better Since 1953.

On behalf of the Brennan Arts department,  I would like to welcome to another amazing school year at F.J. Brennan High School.  Our Arts Department staff  is  looking forward to working with all the aspiring student musicians, actors, dancers, visual artists and photographers out there, with a special invite extended to OUR NEW GRADE NINES: We can't wait to meet you!

Make sure you listen to the morning  announcements, or check the student portal for all of our club meetings, rehearsals, try-outs and performances!  It's going to be a great year for the  Brennan Performing Arts and you won't want to miss a single minute!

Senior Photography: Spring Photography Field Trip

On Friday, May 25, many of our senior photography students, including several SHSM Arts & Culture students, participated in a full-day photography field trip through areas of Windsor and Essex County.  The weather cooperated, as we were blessed with a warm, dry and sunny day from start to finish!

Students got out and let their creativity loose, as they photographed nature, landscape, architectural and portrait based artistic photography in various locations.  We had several drop-off locations and plenty of time in each spot, including the Odette Sculpture Garden and Ambassador Bridge area, Navy Yard Park and Fort Malden in Amherstburg, Devonwood Conservation Area and Jackson Park.

Other than the fact that the pesky mosquitoes won the battle at Devonwood, the rest of the day was filled with fellowship, creative expression, fun and the chance to appreciate human creation and God's beauty!

Already looking forward to next year's trips!

"Eye Candy" - Brennan's annual Student Photography Exhibition for 2018

Just a quick reminder that our annual Photography Exhibition is happening this week!

Titled "Eye Candy", our 2018 Photography Show is better than ever, with nearly 150 enlargements, featuring stunning student work in all genres, including portraits, experimental, landscape, urban photography and much more.

Friday night is the best night to come!  Our Closing Reception and Gala will take place this Friday, May 11, from 5-8 p.m.  Drop in any time and stay as long as you want.  Free admission, live music, light food and photography that WOWs!  What a great way to start your Friday evening!

Artspeak Gallery is located at 1942 Wyandotte Street E., in Old Walkerville, between Devonshire and Kildare.
